PUBLIC HEARING MINUTES – VILLAGE OF TAMPICO
TUESDAY – APRIL 6, 2021 – 6:30 P.M.
Village Mayor Kristine Hill opened the meeting at 6:30 p.m. Mayor Hill turned the meeting over to Tara Walters, the Regional Planner for Black Hawk Hills Regional Council. Mrs. Walters advised the following:
The Village of Tampico is holding a Public Hearing to obtain citizens’ views on the submission of a USDA-RD Community Facilities Grant Funding Program application to replace the heating at cooling system by installing a HVAC system at the Reagan Community Center. This public hearing is a requirement of the grant program. Specific program and project information is discussed below.
The Village Council and Mayor were provided with a project narrative that will be submitted with the application for the USDA-RD Community Facilities Grant Program. That narrative includes a project summary, description of project need, HVAC installation details, new system Components and photos of the building’s current heating system. A maximum amount of $50,000.00 is what the Village will be applying for. The goal is to submit the application by Friday, April 9th, 2021.
An estimate of total proposed project costs was provided by Total Maintenance, Inc. of Bettendorf, IA at roughly $154,000.00. Funds to match the grant are available in the Village’s General Fund. In addition, incentive programs are being negotiated with ComEd and Nicor to help with the purchase and installation of the project.
