VILLAGE OF TAMPICO FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT:
In compliance with the Freedom of Information Act, which took effect on July 1, 1984 (5ILCS 14-/1 et seq.) and was substantially amended by PA 96-0542 effective January 1, 2010; the following SCHEDULE is hereby established:

4. RECORDS AVAILABLE:
All documents or papers belonging to the municipality, except those documents or papers expressly exempt under this Act. No original documents may be removed from Tampico Village Hall.
5. METHOD OF PAYMENT:
All requests for information must be made verbally or in writing to the Village FOIA Officer or in the absence of, to the Village FOIA Deputy Officer. Requests will be answered within five (5) business days after receipt of requests, unless an extension is required.
6. SCHEDULE OF FEES:
Copies-the first fifty (50) pages are no charge; any copies after that shall be $.25 per printed side.
Certified Records-$5.00 for the first document, $3.00 for each additional document. All fees payable in advance of receiving the information requested.*
*Records may be furnished without charge or at a reduced charge as determined by the Village, if the person requesting the documents states the specific purpose for the request and indicates that a waiver or reduction of the fee is in the public interest. Waiver or reductions of the fee is in the public interest if the principal purpose of the request is to access and disseminate information regarding the health, safety and welfare or the legal rights of the general public and is not for the principal purpose of personal or commercial benefit.
7. HOURS OF OPERATION:
Village Clerk-Treasurer: Weekdays 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Utility Clerk – Collector: M-W-F 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
8. OTHER INFORMATION:
A copy of the Village’s Annual Budget, Appropriation Ordinance and map of the Village limits are on file in Tampico Village Hall.
